Who Is Jelly Roll, aka Jason DeFord?

Early Life

Jason DeFord, commonly known as Jelly Roll, was born to his parents in Nashville, United States, on December 4, 1986.

He grew up in the Southside community of Antioch in Nashville, Tennessee, along with his three siblings, a sister Shelby DeFord and two brothers, Scott and Roger DeFrod.

In his teen, His parents separated, and his father, Buddy DeFord, left the family. A single mother raised him. She called him Jelly Roll, which he used as a stage name.

He completed his schooling at a local school and went to high school but dropped out to pursue his music career.

He fell into the vicious circle of drug dealing at a very young age. Until 2009, He was arrested several times in a juvenile detention center for robbery and possession of drugs.

Personal Life

Jelly Roll has been in several relationships during his career. He has a daughter and a son from his previous relationship with Felicia.

On August 31, 2016, He married a 1980-born actress, model, and podcast host Bunnie XO, now known as Bunnie DeFord.

They met in 2015 at a smoky bar near Sin City Las Vegas Country Saloon on Fremont Street, where Jelly performed.

They experienced what we may call “Love at first sight” and found love in each other’s arms. They married randomly. Jelly proposed to her onstage at 11 o’clock at a Yelawolf/Deftrone concert in Las Vegas.

They both were drunk, went to the courthouse at midnight, and married. They don’t have a biological kid yet.

He is the proud father of a daughter, Bailee Ann DeFord, and a son, Noah DeFord. His daughter Bailee is following in her father’s footsteps performing in concerts with him.

Both dueted onstage for the song “Tears Could Talk” in Houston in October 2022. When it was her performance, he gave her the spotlight and moved to the side of the stage.

When his daughter, Bailee, was born in 2008, he had nothing and was getting arrested for drugs. He decided to provide for his daughter by selling CDs and T-shirts in his van.
